  1. If serving into a ceramic cup, preheat the cup using the hot water jet on the espresso machine.
  2. Remove portafilter from group head and flush
  3. Wipe brew basket clean and dry using the dedicated portafilter towel
  4. Fill and level brew basket to desired dose of fresh, finely ground coffee
  5. Tamp firmly, applying 30lbs of pressure [BB1]Β 
  6. Clean loose grounds off portafilter surfaces
  7. Insert the portafilter into the group headΒ 
  8. Start the pump and brew immediately into intended serving vessel
  9. Observe the flow, the end result should be close to a 1:2 ration (Coffee to water, typically 18:36g), brewed at roughly 20-30 seconds
  10. Serve, or combine with other ingredients to make an espresso-based beverage
  11. Remove portafilter and knock out spent coffee
  12. Wipe basket clean (rinse optional) & flush group head.
  13. Return portafilter to group head to keep portafilter heated.
